We are excited to announce our Spring 2023 Competition schedule! Hosted by Citadel and Citadel Securities, in partnership with Correlation One, the Spring season will feature 5 Terminal and 6 Datathon events around the world.
The Data Open Datathons and Terminal Live are among the most prestigious data science and coding competitions for university students. These competitions bring together the best quantitative minds, giving participants an opportunity to showcase their skills as they build their algorithms or tackle some of the world’s most challenging problems in the global market.
After a few years of mainly hosting online events, we will be returning with in-person events. In addition to our regional events across North America, Asia-Pacific (APAC), Europe, and Continental Europe, we will also feature three in-person events: East Coast Regional Datathon, West Coast Regional Datathon, and Women’s Datathon!
All competitions feature networking and info sessions with current employees and hiring officials from Citadel and Citadel Securities. Virtual competitions will take place over a week, giving participants a chance to work with their own schedules. In-person events will take place over a day, with the competition, networking session, and award ceremony.
For all of our events, top-performing students will have the opportunity to win $15,000 in cash prizes, exclusive recruiting opportunities with Citadel, and global recognition.
Terminal
Terminal is an online game where players build an algorithm to play a tower defense game in a team-based setting. You can watch this video to see Terminal in action.

Datathon
Datathons are data science competitions similar to hackathons, where teams of students are provided with a series of complex datasets created by Correlation One. The teams then analyze the data, use real-world findings, and prepare a report of their discoveries to a panel of judges.
