CREATING AN INCLUSIVE DATA ECONOMY
Forward-thinking business leaders know they can no longer afford to ignore the gap between their growing data staffing needs and DEI goals. And our Employer Partners are helping us tackle both objectives at once.
ABOUT DS4A / DATA ENGINEERING
Data Skills for All (DS4A)/ Data Engineering is a rigorous training certification program that ultimately provides Employer Partners access to a pool of highly skilled talented Data Engineers from underrepresented communities (e.g., Black, Latinx, Women, Veterans, LGBTQ+, and others).
At the end of the free, 17-week program led by world-class instructors, these talented individuals are prepared to initialize, organize, and maintain data infrastructure for a range of businesses.
Our Employer Partners not only recruit exclusively from our pool of certified Data Engineers but also explore unique employer branding opportunities.
Join us now to connect with top-tier talent.
OUR DS4A MISSION
Currently, fewer than 7% of data professionals identify as Black or Latinx while significant structural barriers prevent many people (including Women) from acquiring data skills.
With the help of our Employer Partners, we're now on track to train 10,000 new data professionals in the next three years.

WHY COMPANIES NEED DS4A / DATA ENGINEERING
BUILD DATA PIPELINES
Data is the new oil, and data science is transforming how companies leverage their data for growth.
Without building effective data pipelines, the use of data is vastly limited. Like any resource, data has to be effectively organized and distributed.
CREATE SMART DATA
The first step to leveraging the power of big data in an organization is creating “smart data” — data that is reliable and formatted to be easily accessed and analyzed.
Data Engineers design and build the systems needed to leverage big data.
DEVELOP BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE
Data Engineers combine cloud computing, algorithms, and database design to create and maintain a data infrastructure for the entire organization. This enables analysts and data scientists to conduct root-cause analyses with high predictive accuracy. Plus, with the help of these data specialists, non-technical departments (marketing, sales, and operations) can also access data to inform their decision-making.

MEET SOME OF OUR DS4A GRADUATES
"Without the DS4A community's encouragement and support through the hiring process, I could've never gotten my data engineering internship at Point72. Other programs, even great college classes, teach you theory; DS4A teaches you not just that, but also how to apply it to change the world."
"I've encountered obstacles to advancing my data skills, mainly confidence and sense of how to prioritize knowledge. This community has lifted me up. I've written a machine learning model from scratch. It's built to improve the accessibility of electric vehicles in the U.S."
"In DS4A, I've spoken with industry leaders on topics that relate to my experience as a black woman in STEM. "
"The DS4A experience marks a huge shift in my career since now I am able to introduce next-generation technologies to my company and understand the benefits it will bring to the future."

What makes DS4A / Data Engineering unique?
DS4A / Data Engineering is a comprehensive program that aims to remove the structural, academic, and financial barriers that prevent minority candidates from pursuing careers in Data Engineering. We help identify and prepare talent from underrepresented groups for the data-driven jobs of the future. Our ultimate aim? To build a robust ecosystem of talented Black, Latinx, Women, and people of other under-represented communities who are data-fluent and ready to fill current and future Data Engineering jobs. Indeed, DS4A Fellows can already access a diverse, rapidly expanding network of program alumni, mentors, and Employer Partners for career coaching support and job opportunities.
How can this impact my firm’s recruiting goals?
In addition to DS4A Fellows nominated by our Employer Partners, Correlation One selects external applicants whom we identify as being not only excellent Fellows but also strong future employees. Employer Partners will have multiple opportunities to interface with Fellows directly throughout the program. They will also have access to comprehensive recruitment data including resumes, career interests, and technical assessment scores as well as data project-based learning from within the program.
How will this impact my firm’s employer brand?
Employer Partners for the DS4A/Data Engineering program are publicly affirming their commitment to creating equal access to the jobs of tomorrow by investing in the education and career advancement of talented individuals from the Black, Latinx, and other underrepresented minority communities—including Women. Correlation One will actively promote its Employer Partners across email, social, and PR channels leading up to, during, and after the program. Employer Partners will also have the opportunity to speak before the Fellows and share insights about what makes their individual organization both a category leader and a DEI champion.
